Astroglide does not contain fragrances, colorings or other ingredients that are common irritants. However, any topical product can cause irritation. If you feel that you may be sensitive to one of the ingredients, test the personal lubricant on a small patch of skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. While some women’s journals cite personal lubricants containing glycerin as a source of yeast infections, this is not true. In fact, some yeast infection cures contain glycerin. However, an existing yeast infection can be made worse by products containing a large percentage of glycerin. This is because the sugars in glycerin act as a food source for the yeast.
